大新村是汕头市澄海区溪南镇西北面的行政村，在韩江南岸，东靠汕汾公路西侧，村里设3个村民小组。[1][2] 村名取自两个自然村各一字：明天启元年（1621年）有人在东陇渡南岸定居，称「大渡头」；清宣统二年（1910年）在大渡头西北新建文范一、二街，意在开辟商埠，称「新埠」。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
大新原属苏湾都。1949年大渡头与新埠两个自然村合并，成为大新村，当时归苏北区；1951年同东陇、水寨、上西陇一起组成东陇乡，1953年划入第三区。[1] 1959年设生产大队，1986年独立建制。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
博雅地名网所录村情写作耕地280亩，总人口692人、187户，其中农业户164户；2009年村里双层经营的总收入为926.5万元，人均纯收入4206元。[1] 百度百科记载，2024年6月，大新经济联合社提出建设玩具展厅的项目，拟用地518平方米，用地性质为商业。[2]
