桥东社区在汕头市潮阳区关埠镇政府驻地的东面，沿潮关公路分布，因位于康济桥以东而得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
博雅地名网载，南宋景炎二年（1277年）先人迁到这里建村，起名桥东村。[1]1958年公社化时为桥东大队，1984年改称桥东乡，1986年称村委会，1988年称管理区，1999年改设居委会；2004年圆丰村并入，仍称桥东居委会。[1]
现状[edit]
社区简介写到，辖区有交通站、粮食仓库、港区和镇初级中学等单位，也有车站、码头和综合市场，潮关公路与海揭公路从区内通过，居民以务农为主，兼做竹制品加工、抽纱、水产养殖和建筑。简介列的人口为5563人，面积约10平方千米，未注明年份。[1]2008年被广东省评为“六好社区”。[1]
