历史沿革[edit]
民国时期村边有一座钟庙，当地称庙为社，村子在庙的背后，因此得名。[1]据区划资料，社背在1949至1957年为社背乡，1958至1983年为社背大队，1983至1986年复称社背乡，1986至1993年为社背村委会，1993至1998年为社背管理区，1998年起称社背村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
地理环境[edit]
全村面积约11平方千米，耕地2500亩、林地2.5万亩，分18个村民小组，居民2368人；离镇政府9公里。[2]
名胜古迹[edit]
境内有杨氏宗祠和革命老区文化室，属县级保护的不可移动文物。[2][3]
经济[edit]
村里种蔬菜约500亩、五指毛桃约70亩，并发展夏黑、巨峰、阳光玫瑰等葡萄，以及与韶关立华合作的肉鸡养殖项目。[2]
荣誉[edit]
- 2019年9月，社背村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
