历史沿革[edit]
1974年从平岗大队析出，把原平岗大队的军联片同水库移民新建大队合并，设新联大队，接着1982年因县内重名，改作平新大队。1984年为平新乡，随后1987年改村委会，再后来1989年改管理区，此后1998年复设村委会。[1]
地理环境[edit]
辖新寮、下军田、杨梅岭、毛陂、新桔仔园、老桔仔园六个自然村，都是原平岗村的一部分，村委会设在新桔仔园。[1]
人口民族[edit]
总人口3210多人，耕地1650多亩，山地800亩。[1]
经济[edit]
村民广种萝卜，这里是海丰特产“公平菜脯”（萝卜干）的主产地。该村是中山市的扶贫挂钩点。2019年9月列入「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」，2021年12月获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
