村附近有一座暗石岩，村在岩前，故名。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年设农会，1950至1957年为大队，1963至1986年称乡，1986年后设管理区，1999年改为村民委员会。[3]

荣誉[edit]

岩前村种油茶，在广东省农业农村厅2021年9月公布的第二批「一村一品、一镇一业」专业村中入选；广东省乡村振兴局又在2022年1月，把它列为2021年度乡村治理示范村的创建单位。[1]
