名称由来[edit]

村名的来历，据当地说法，是此村多年被评为工作标兵，上级曾授予一面大红旗，村民的生活也被比作鲜艳飘扬的红旗。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年解放初期，这一带属长布区长宁乡江南村。后来成立红旗农业社，人民公社时期设红旗管理区，1984年体制下放时又分出二十多个小组，1993年长布镇成立后，一直称红旗村委会。[1]

荣誉[edit]

红旗村是「第一批广东省卫生村」，由省爱国卫生运动委员会于2017年10月授予；2026年3月，又被认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。[1]
