历史沿革[edit]
红村由政府统一安置的水库移民组成，取名「红」，为突出红色的时代特征。[2]
1970年组建红村大队，1983年更名为红村乡，1986年更名为红村村委会，1989年更名为管理区，1999年起定为红村村民委员会。博雅地名网称其为红村村。[1]
文化[edit]
2019年9月，该村被列为广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位（2018年度）。[1]
