水兴村位于大埔县大麻镇境内，属英雅片，在梅州市、广东省的行政区划中是大麻镇所辖的一个村。旧称水声。林氏族谱记载，林氏第七世在此开基，当地石洞里泉水不断，发出流水声，所以叫水声；方言里「声」「兴」读音相近，后来写作水兴。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明代属浒梓村社水声村，清代属三河社水声村。2003年撤英雅镇并入大麻镇，此前1998年改设村民委员会，1988年改称管理区，1983年为英雅区水兴乡，1961年属英雅公社，1958年人民公社化时成为三河公社的水兴大队，1952年设水兴乡，民国属三河区英雅乡。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
据村情页（未注明年份），全村分9个村民小组，在册196户、731人，耕地481亩，主要经济作物为柚子，上一年农村经济总收入493万元。[1]
荣誉[edit]
- 2021年12月，水兴村获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
