北埔村位于大埔县大麻镇境内，属河东片，在梅州市、广东省的行政区划中是大麻镇所辖的一个村。村东、村北有山环绕，西南面临韩江，村民多沿江边的河滩、坡地和溪坑两旁聚居，村名即由这一地貌而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清嘉庆年间（1796年至1816年），刘氏开基祖行三公从清远都同仁社（今湖寮镇）的社背村迁来定居，聚落形成后隶属大麻社弓州村。1998年改设村民委员会，此前1988年改称管理区，1986年冬设村委会，1983年12月恭州并入大麻后称北埔乡，1978年3月改隶恭州公社，1958年成为大麻公社的生产大队，1957年并入恭州乡，1952年单独设乡，1949年属麻东乡，民国三十二年（1943年）前后属大麻区恭州乡。[2]

人口与经济[edit]

据村情页（未注明年份），全村分11个村民小组，在册265户、1253人，耕地540亩，主要经济作物为柚子，上一年农村经济总收入796万元。[1]

荣誉[edit]

  • 2019年9月，北埔村列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
  • 2021年12月，北埔村获「2021年广东省卫生村」称号。[1]
  • 2026年3月，北埔村被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
