察步村是高要区莲塘镇北部的行政村，与高要城区隔江相望，莲江公路贯穿全境，辖10个村民小组，人口共1350多人（据博雅地名网）。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1952年称察步乡，隶高要二区；当年8月划归高要六区；1955年转入莲塘区；1958年成立察步大队，隶新桥公社；次年改隶莲塘公社；1983年改设乡，1987年乡改为村委会，1989年又改为管理区，1998年改称察步村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
肇庆市科技职业技术学院南校区位于村东部，占地近1000亩；肇庆碧桂园“山湖城”和祈福海岸两个房地产项目也在村东部，投资约40亿元，属于高要江滨新城建设的一部分（据博雅地名网撰写时的情况）。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2026年1月，获评「广东省第二批百千万工程典型村」；2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
