波洞村是高要区莲塘镇东部的行政村，距高要城区14千米，邻县道新蛟线，辖5个自然村、24个村民小组，人口共5116人（据博雅地名网）。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1952年立波洞乡，隶高要二区，当年8月划归高要六区；1955年转入莲塘区；1958年成立波洞大队，隶新桥公社；次年改隶莲塘公社；1983年大队改为乡，1987年乡改为村委会，1989年又改为管理区，1998年复称村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
村委会引进了5、6家规模较大的养猪场，其中有高要最大的加大集团种猪场（据博雅地名网）。[1]
