坳边村是高要区莲塘镇的行政村，位于镇中心一带，邻莲江公路，距莲塘圩镇3千米，辖6个村民小组，人口共4011人（据博雅地名网）。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1952年称坳边乡，隶高要二区，当年8月划归高要六区；1955年转入莲塘区；1958年成立坳边大队，隶新桥公社；次年改隶莲塘公社；1983年设村委会，1989年又改为管理区，1998年复称村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
村里地势平坦，约九成耕地已改作水产养殖，养殖四大家鱼、罗非鱼和罗氏虾，塘基上间种蔬菜、药材。[1]
