柑园村是高要区莲塘镇南部的行政村，距高要城区10千米、莲塘圩镇约1千米，辖25个村民小组，人口共4200多人（据博雅地名网）。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1952年立柑园乡，隶高要二区，不久改属高要六区；1955年转入莲塘区；1958年划入新桥公社，称柑园大队；次年改隶莲塘公社；1983年大队改为乡，1987年乡改为村委会，1989年又改为管理区，1998年复称村民委员会。[1]
经济[edit]
县道新蛟线穿村而过。村里以水产养殖为主，养殖四大家鱼、罗非鱼和罗氏虾，另有山地和耕地种植经济林、水稻与蔬菜。[1]
