上察村是高要区莲塘镇北部的行政村，毗邻高要城区，有莲江公路贯穿，辖9个村民小组，人口共1700多人（据博雅地名网）。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1952年立上察乡，隶高要二区，当年8月划归高要六区；1955年转入莲塘区；1958年成立上察大队，隶新桥公社；次年改隶莲塘公社；1983年大队改为乡，1987年乡改为村委会，1989年又改为管理区，1998年复称村民委员会。[1]

经济[edit]

莲塘镇的蚌岗工业园设在村内莲江公路西侧，有纺织、染整、电镀、皮革类企业十多家；广肇高速公路莲塘出口也选址在村内（据博雅地名网撰写时的情况）。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」名单。[1]
