龙湾村属高州市古丁镇管辖，在城乡分类中归为镇乡结合区。村名的说法是：旧时村前有一处大湾，湾里鲛鱼很多，人们称鲛鱼为龙，于是叫龙湾。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

土改时这里曾叫龙马乡，公社化时设龙湾大队，其后依次变为乡（1983年）、农村管理区（1986年）和村民委员会（1999年以后），名称始终是龙湾。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，龙湾村列入2018年度省级「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位之列；同年10月评为2019年度「广东省卫生村」。2026年3月，被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[1]
