名称由来[edit]

村子四面环山，中间呈圆形。据博雅地名网，历来在这里设据点常得胜，解放战争时期又是革命老游击区，前人称之为福地，故名福州。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明代建村，因东面邻村叫下垌，这里叫上垌。1983年起叫上垌乡，1986年起叫上垌农村管理区，1999年经大坡镇政府提议，上垌村民委员会改称福州村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
