东升社区是广东省湛江市吴川市梅菉街道下辖的社区。名称来历：文化大革命破四旧、立四新，取旭日东升之意。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

居委会的前身依次是：1950年的第三街管理区，1955年的漳州街管理区，1958年的漳州街居委会；1966年起用东升之名，1983年一度称管理区，1999年重新称居委会。[1]

概况[edit]

东升社区成立于1964年，在梅菉旧城区，面积1.5平方千米，约7010人，设6个居民小组。[1][2]

社区是梅菉早期的商贸和文化活动中心，保留刘家巷、漳洲街、十字街等街巷，以及元宵花塔旧址和天后宫古庙。[2]

2019年9月，该社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
