廖山社区是广东省湛江市吴川市梅菉街道下辖的社区。名称来历：辖区内有廖山祖庙，因此得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
廖山社区原属梅茂县（1950年），1953年归梅菉公社；曾称瓦窑居委会（1978年）、瓦窑管区（1983年），1997年起改用廖山之名，1999年成居委会。[1]
概况[edit]
廖山社区成立于1961年，面积0.77平方千米，约1830人，设2个居民小组，旧称瓦窑。[1] 社区被评为湛江市特色文化村，民间艺术「瓦窑陶鼓」流传省内外；水月庵有清代状元林召棠题写的楹联。[1]
近年社区集资350多万元，建起瓦窑小学教学楼、教师宿舍、村级市场和500多平方米的文化室。[1]
2019年9月，该社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
