梅菉头社区是广东省湛江市吴川市梅菉街道下辖的社区。名称来历：居委会办公地在梅菉圩东，因此得名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1950年称梅菉村，隶属梅茂县梅博乡，三年后成梅菉头乡，转属吴川县。其后的变化是：1956年成梅菉头大队，归梅菉公社；1958年公社化时同山脚大队合为梅山大队；1964年又分出，恢复旧名；1983年再次与山脚大队合并，称梅山管理区；到1986年两者分开，另设梅菉头管理区；1999年成居委会。[2]
概况[edit]
梅菉头社区在吴川市城区中心，成立于1958年，面积2.1平方千米，约3958人，设7个居民小组，是梅菉原住民最早聚居的地方之一。[1]
社区内的梅菉祖庙为吴川市文物保护单位，相传始建于宋代；清代福建巡抚陈瑸为庙题过对联。[1][3] 社区的传统民间艺术有飘色、泥塑和舞貔貅叠罗汉，梅录头貔貅舞因此使社区进入「2018-2020年度广东省民间文化艺术之乡」名单。[1]
2019年9月，该社区列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
