南兴镇是广东省湛江市雷州市下辖的镇，位于雷州市中部，镇政府设在南兴圩，距雷州城区约19公里，下辖1个社区和33个行政村。[1][2]镇域面积约135.33平方千米，南渡河流经镇的北部，是雷州市的粮食产区之一。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

解放初期，这一带属第二区。1957年分为南兴、东林两乡，1958年并入先锋公社。1961年起属南兴区，其后另立南兴公社；1984年公社改区，1987年4月区改为镇，即今南兴镇。[1]

镇名取自镇政府所在的南兴圩。[1]

经济[edit]

据博雅地名网转载的概况，南兴镇有耕地约7.8万亩，粮食生产在雷州市占重要位置，所产优质米在广东省也属较大的产区；经济作物有甘蔗、西瓜和北运蔬菜，其中北运蔬菜种植8000多亩。镇上的加工业有粮食加工、建筑、制砖、水产养殖、浅海捕捞和食品加工等。[1]这段概况所记的年产值等数字没有注明年份，本条目不予引用。207国道经过南兴圩。[1]

该概况称全镇有34个管理区、115个自然村，共78105人，其中南兴圩约2.9万人，但未注明统计年份。[1]第七次全国人口普查（2020年）的结果是全镇约7.15万人，在雷州市各乡镇街道中居第7位。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

草洋村东的双溪口炮台旧址，建在南渡河与花桥水汇流处，属清代古建筑，2019年4月19日公布为第九批广东省文物保护单位；据载炮台建于明洪武年间，清康熙二十六年（1687年）《海康县志》把它列为雷州沿海八座炮台之一。[3]

东林村在2012年12月进入「第一批中国传统村落」名录，同年5月入选「第三批广东省历史文化名镇名村」。[1][2]

荣誉[edit]

2022年9月，南兴镇获认定为「2022年湛江市文明镇」。[1]
