历史沿革[edit]
巴东乡设于1950年，隶滨海区；1952年划入吴川县第九区；到1958年，改设巴东大队，归南三公社。1963年巴东、新华、木历三个大队并为巴东大队；1978年又分为巴东、木历、新华、地聚四个大队；1983年四队再并，成立巴东乡。1987年称村民委员会，1990年称管理区，1999年改称巴东村民委员会，沿用至今[1]。
地理环境[edit]
联岛以前，巴东是南三岛周围十个小岛之一，位于岛的西部，面积约11平方千米，东邻凤辇岛，西邻调东、北涯二岛。岛南端的地聚岛，明洪武年间起曾设吴川宁村巡检司，负责海上巡逻捕盗；后来流沙堆积，使两岛自然相连，成为新的巴东岛[3]。
