横山社区是广东省湛江市廉江市横山镇的镇中心区，社区居委会设在横山圩，圩因北面有山林横亘而名“横山”。[1]辖区总面积3平方千米，有4167户8030人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1960年为横山大队，1983年设横山乡，1986年改为居委会，1989年称横山管理区，1999年定名横山社区居委会。[1]

地理环境[edit]

社区在镇的东南部，东接大岭村，南接横山村，西接夏插村，北接下路村。[1]区内多为混凝土结构楼房，另有部分砖瓦平房，设有卫生站、完全小学、图书馆和幼儿园各1所，完全中学2所。[1]
