历史沿革[edit]
1969年以前，横山、田体、望高、牛头岭、坡正湾5条自然村由遂溪农场管辖；1970年起划归岭北公社，成立横山大队。此后的变迁是：1983年管理区，1986年村委会，1989年又为管理区，1999年起称横山村民委员会。[1]
文化[edit]
2019年9月，横山村列入「2018年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）创建单位」；2021年1月入选「湛江市2020年度全市文明村」；2026年3月被认定为「广东省第三批百千万工程典型村镇」。[1]
