地名由来[edit]
村北有一片山林横亘，村民就以“横山”为名立村；村委会设在横山圩，村名与圩名相同。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1950年时作廉江县第三区的横山行政村，1953年时划归第五区横山乡，1958年成为横山公社下的横山大队。1983年起叫横郊乡，1986年时改作设管理区，1999年定名横山村委会。[1]
经济[edit]
村中种植的农作物主要有水稻、番薯、北运菜。特产有金丝果脯。[1]

下属自然村包括东令、黄盘山、横山圩、后塱等。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2019年9月入选「2018年广东省“民主法治示范村（社区）”创建单位」名单；2026年3月获认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。[1]
