下路村属湛江市廉江市横山镇管辖，地处广东省西南部，是一个行政村，村委会设在下路村，下属10条自然村。^[1]据博雅地名网所载村情，全村总人口6613人，耕地约3226亩，有党员105名。^[1]

地名由来[edit]

村边紧挨原来的325国道，村民以“下路”为名立村。^[1]

1953年时归横山乡。1963年一拆成下路、横山两个大队，之后又分出关塘、下坡仔，成为三个大队，1968年三队再度并作下路大队。1983年起叫下路乡，1986年时作下路管理区，1999年时改作称村委会。^[1]

村中种植的农作物主要有水稻、番薯、花生、北运菜。^[1]

下属自然村包括下路、关塘、豆豉、下坡仔等。^[1]

何靖国，1995年1月生于下路村，毕业于横山中学，2012年12月入伍，服役于成都军区第14集团军某摩步旅，2014年因执行扑火任务牺牲，被追认为烈士。^[2]

2026年3月获认定为「广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型村镇」。^[1]
