历史沿革[edit]
清光绪初年起，这里有人开店经商；1896年（清光绪二十二年）开圩，1946年设横山乡。2002年3月挂牌成立横山居民委员会，2004年5月改为横山社区居民委员会。[1][2]
地名由来[edit]
社区坐落在一条东西走向的山岗上，因此得名。[1]
经济[edit]
社区面积约13.72平方公里。居民兴办的服装加工厂有10多间，吸收就业1000多人；社区可支配的土地有耕地3140亩、林地6467亩，另有鱼塘280亩，均发包给人经营，作为集体收入。山上多种速生桉和果树，耕地种水稻、花生。[1]
