前埔村在隆都镇西南部，距店市约1.5公里，占地1.85平方公里。[1]宋代这里还是一片沙滩，元朝围垦成平原，才渐渐有了多姓聚居的村落，最初叫前浦，清雍正年间改作前埔。[1]村里华侨户占八成以上，2020年至2022年连续三年入选「淘宝村」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋时已有何、莫、徐、高等姓在此聚居；地名里的「浦」指水边，因其坐北朝南、与北面的后浦相对而称前浦，后来地形变迁成为埔地，便改浦为埔。[1][2]

明成化十三年（1477年）改隶饶平县隆眼城都；1949年10月划入澄海县隆都区；到1953年称前埔乡；1956年并入樟籍乡；1959年设前埔生产大队；1984年1月设前埔乡；1986年11月撤区置镇，设前埔村。[1]

经济[edit]

据村情资料，全村有1300多户、5000多人，耕地1220亩；华侨捐建了学校和水厂各一座。[1]前潮洄头在古时是码头，往来潮州府城的海船在此停泊装卸，不少村民当过装卸工；做面线、晒鸡腱菜脯是传统副业。[1]

革命史迹[edit]

第一次国内革命战争时期，前埔是潮汕党组织开展地下活动的地区之一，村里立有烈士纪念碑一座。[1]2019年9月，前埔村进入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位名单。[1]
