下北村在隆都镇西北部，距店市约2公里，地域面积4平方公里，共七个自然村：何厝、贡巷林、贡巷余、云路头、前陇、下欧和乔梓里，贡林、下欧、前陇三处是革命老区。[1]隆都北部村落旧时合称北社，1959年调整行政村时，以凤湾公路为界分为上北、下北，此村在公路以东。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
北社各自然村的创建时间，早的在宋朝初年，晚的到清康熙年间。[2]1951年称北社乡；1953年分设宅头、龙美、前陇三乡；1956年重新合为北社乡；1959年划为上北、下北两部分，设下北生产大队；1984年1月设下北乡；1986年11月撤区置镇，设下北村。[1]
经济[edit]
据村情资料，全村有住户1528户、6102人，耕地2199亩，是纯农业地区，种番石榴、青枣，兼种水稻、玉米、蔬菜。[1]2009年人均收入3400元，其中工业产值2920万元、农业产值2270万元。[1]
2020年至2022年，下北村连续三年入选「淘宝村」名单；2026年3月被认定为广东省第三批「百千万工程」典型村镇。[1]
