前沟村在隆都镇东南部，距店市约3公里，辖前沟、后蔡、沟墘、仙地头四个自然村。[1]名字得自南溪上游北侧古称东安堤的堤段旁、通往石佛大潭的那条河沟。[2]村里2020年至2022年连续三年入选「淘宝村」名单。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代这里已有彭、林、廉、胡等姓聚居；1278年吴粤川迁居此地，后人以撑渡为业，所以前沟旧时也叫吴军渡乡。[1]1920年村人兴建吴氏家庙，在祠前挖了大池，村子因此也自称团湖。[2]
行政归属上，起初隶海阳县怀德乡的隆眼城都，明成化十三年（1477年）改隶饶平县长岐堡；1941年隶隆南乡，1946年改隶西隆乡，1949年10月划归澄海县隆都区；1956年前沟乡与樟籍、前埔、鹊巷三乡合称樟籍乡。[1]
经济[edit]
据村情资料，全村有住户802户、3260人，耕地1111亩，种水稻、香薯、花生、甘蔗、荔枝。[1]2009年人均收入3594元，其中工业产值12020万元、农业产值1875万元。[1]2019年9月，前沟村被列入2018年广东省「民主法治示范村（社区）」的创建单位。[1]
