店市社区位于隆都镇的中心，是隆都镇人民政府的驻地，到澄海城区约15千米。[1]社区的名字来自旧称「店仔头埠」：当地话里「店仔」指小店铺，后来集市越做越大，才改叫店市。[1][2]它下辖美头、陇下、前溪许三个经济联合社以及各居民小组。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1949年10月，这里划入澄海县隆都区；1951年改称店市镇；1956年，店市镇和前美、后溪、后埔三乡并成店市乡。[1]1959年设店市生产大队，归隆都人民公社。[1]
1984年1月设区建乡时，店市成为乡级镇，辖前溪许村和店市居民办事处；1986年11月撤区置镇，改设店市管理区；2002年设店市社区，沿用至今。[1]
经济[edit]
据博雅地名网所载村情，社区约有1348户、4538人，非农业户796户（2023人），农业户588户（2515人）；做禽畜种苗生意、制饼食和修理，是当地沿袭已久的营生。[3]糯米制的软饼「米饯」由后溪人金清泉经营，与老花、云片糕一起，是店市出名的饼食。[3]集市日到场的人超过2万。[3]2009年人均收入3384元，其中工业产值6100万元、农业产值850万元。[3]
文化[edit]
社区里有中学、小学各一所，还有一座建于1886年的基督教堂，学校和教堂近年都经过重建或扩建。[3]中医师、画家蔡士烈，以及曾任汕头画院院长的长子蔡仰颜，长期住在店市。[3]
