茆港村在汕头市潮南区陇田镇的中心腹地，位于镇中心东侧。村内溪港纵横，曾长满茆草，因此得名。明永乐年间（1403—1424年）始有人家，祖先自福建迁居。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明、清至民国初年属潮阳县峡山都，1921年属第七区；1950年属永新乡，1958年属茆溪北大队，1975年该大队分为茆港、溪尾、北洋三队，茆港为其一；1986年改村委会，1999年恢复现建制。[2]

概况[edit]

451户、2530人，耕地500亩，村民种水稻和小宗经济作物，部分人到深圳、广州等地务工。全村有9家企业，包括织袜和塑料制品厂。2009年村民人均纯收入3200元，其中村里农业产出140万元，工业产出400万元。[1][2]

2007年乡贤郑桂泉捐资办茆港同源学校；2013年，茆港村又先后得到「广东省儿童友好示范社区」和「汕头市文明村」的称号。[1][2]
