长厝村在汕头市潮南区陇田镇，和惠公路东侧，是平原上的农业村。清康熙二十六年（1687年），有人从东坡村分出，迁到此地安家；因寨子依池塘而建，旧名塘厝，潮汕话「塘」「长」同音，遂写作长厝。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

明、清至民国初年属潮阳县峡山都，1921年属第七区；1950年归沙陇乡，1958年称长厝大队，1983年改乡，1986年设村委会，1992年称管理区，1999年恢复村委会。[2]

概况[edit]

全村620户，常住3250人，耕地704亩，九个村民小组，党员53人。村内有日成发品厂、兴华印刷厂和一家旧塑料加工厂；集体收入靠开发塭田、承包淡水养殖。村民主要靠种养业和外出务工为生。[1][2]

村班子前后集资一千多万元，把寨前埕改成水泥地面，并建起学校、治安岗楼、办公大楼、小公园和老年活动中心，还修了农田防渗渠与机耕路。[2]
