华瑶社区在陇田镇的西北角：东边挨着东波，南边是兴陇，西边与成田镇分界，北边是东仙。明永乐三年（1405年）从福建福州迁来的先民在此创村；2019年6月，社区列入第五批中国传统村落名录。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

村名取地处平川沃土、绿水萦绕之意。明、清至民国初年属潮阳县峡山都，民国属第七区；1950年称华朴乡，1958年称华瑶大队，1983年改乡，1986年设居委会，1992年称管理区，1999年恢复居委会。[1]

人口与经济[edit]

社区分八个居民小组，610户、3112人，耕地500亩，山地2800亩。农业种水稻、番薯、蔬菜，养牛、猪和家禽；工业以织袜、印刷为主。2025年建成占地12亩的农文旅综合体项目。[1][2]

文化与荣誉[edit]

据介绍，社区是「二战时期」的革命老苏区，也是侨乡。潮州音乐是这里的文化特色：华瑶在2018年5月公布的「广东省民间文化艺术之乡」（2018至2020年度）名单上，凭潮州音乐入选；社区组有华瑶青少年潮乐团，也是潮州音乐的省级非遗传承基地。此外，社区于2020年12月进入民主法治示范村创建名单，2024年4月又被选为广东省首批乡村振兴示范村的创建对象。[1][2]
