西二社区在汕头市潮阳区西胪镇，位于省道234线旁，西到揭海公路，东到榕江西岸，面积5.683平方千米，人口13760人[1][3]。它与西一社区同出自西胪村，因序号二得名[2]。

历史沿革[edit]

社区的前身是西胪村，明万历二年（1574年）建村，起初叫西芦村，后称西泸村，清末改「泸」为「胪」；1956年分为西一、西二两个聚落，1964年起叫西二大队，1988年设管理区，1999年改西二居委会[1][3]。

经济与设施[edit]

社区以农业和建筑业为主，耕地2300亩；2013年村集体收入285万元，农民年人均收入6463元[1][3]。社区里设西胪综合市场，另有西胪中学、宫前公园和抗日自卫大队旧址[1][3]。
