大田村属广州市增城区中新镇，是镇辖的行政村。博雅地名网所载村情记其面积5.6平方千米，耕地约680亩，户籍人口235人（447户），流动人口108人，下辖11个自然村、13个村民小组。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村子建在一片开阔的田地上，客家话把这样的地方叫“大田”，村名由此而来。[1]

新中国成立初期，大田一带属乌石乡所在的新三区。1956年成立高级农业合作社，1958年公社化后并入中新公社的中新大队，1964年才从中新大队分出，独立为大田大队。1983年公社改区，大队随之称乡，1987年撤乡设村，大田村民委员会沿用至今，隶属中新镇。[1]

经济与设施[edit]

村里为招商引资提供了不少场地，辖区内企业较多，村民转移到二、三产业就业的比例据称达95%以上。[1]
