宁西社区是广州市增城区宁西街道下辖的社区，居委会在镇前街25号，沿用了老宁西镇的名字。[1] 名称来自它所在的位置：南朝宋元嘉元年（424年）设绥宁都，这里在其西面，故称宁西。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宁西居委会设于1989年1月，隶宁西镇，2002年起称宁西社区居民委员会，一直用到现在。[1] 隶属关系后来几经变化：2004年随镇并入新塘镇，2012年归新设的永宁街道，2019年起归宁西街道。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年9月，社区进入2018年广东省民主法治示范创建单位的名单；2024年1月，被定为「2023年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」；2024年11月入选「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」名单。[1]
