历史沿革[edit]
元至元二十二年（1285年），村民先祖从从化太平场迁到增城宁都，村名取作敦村；元亡之后改用姓氏作村名，叫郭村，至今未变。[1]
1951年土改时划入宁西乡；1958年归仙村公社；1976年单设郭村大队，隶宁西公社；1983年公社撤销、建宁西区，大队成为郭村乡；1987年乡改为村，成立郭村村民委员会，村隶属宁西镇。[1]

博雅地名网载，全村面积约2平方公里，辖6条自然村和4个生产合作社；户籍人口1215人（328户），另有外来人口1766人；耕地218亩；村民的收入主要来自农业和外出务工。[1]
荣誉[edit]
郭村村列入阿里研究院公布的2020年淘宝村名单，此后又列入2021年（南京大学空间规划研究中心与阿里研究院联合发布）和2022年的淘宝村名单；2024年11月入选「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」名单。[1]
