历史沿革[edit]
此地初属新七区，1951年土改后叫下湖乡；1956年成立章陂高级社；1958年公社化，成为仙村公社的章陂大队；1976年转属宁西公社。[1]
1983年公社撤销，大队改称章陂乡；1987年乡改为村，成立章陂村民委员会，村隶属宁西镇；宁西镇2004年并入新塘，村随之归新塘镇，其后2012年归永宁街道，2019年归宁西街道。[1]

博雅地名网载，村有5个合作社、465户、1854人，地势平坦，近年有商人到村设厂。[1] 2024年11月，章陂村入选「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」名单。[1]
