历史沿革[edit]
村民的始祖罗奇锦在清朝康熙年间自紫金来到百湖，开基立村。[1] 早年湖东、湖中、百湖几片村合为仙村的百湖乡；1951年土改后改称百湖小乡；1955年建3个初级社，1957年联合为胜利高级社；1958年公社化，属仙村公社的百湖大队。[1]
1976年百湖、湖中、湖东各自成立大队，隶宁西公社；1983年公社撤销，湖东大队改称湖东乡。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2023年4月，湖东村进入「2022年广东省乡村治理示范村」创建单位的名单；2024年11月入选「2024年广州市充分就业社区（村）」名单；2026年1月获评广东省第二批「百千万工程」典型村。[1]
