庆东村在荔城街道的西北边，东邻莲塘村，西邻龙角村，南邻陈桥头村，北与小楼镇相接，全村面积约18.52平方千米，约551户、3580人，有7个自然村、21个合作社。[1]
村原名中庆里，后来人口增多，依方位分为东、南两村，这个村坐落朝东，便叫庆东。[1]
经济[edit]
当地年降雨量约1300毫米，种水稻、蔬菜；耕地约100亩，林地一千多亩，村民收入以务工和务农为主。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
土改时设庆东小乡，1957年组建庆东高级农业社；1962年建公社时叫联合大队，次年起称庆东大队。1983年恢复为乡，1987年1月撤区建镇，乡改为村。[1]
荣誉[edit]
该村是广东省爱卫会2023年5月评定的2022年度广东省卫生村之一。[1]
