地名由来[edit]
民国初期，人们已称村内河涌为“天字号涌”：良角涌和小乌村的正尾涌向西北伸展，如“天”字的两横，加上西面伸向马克村的涌和东南面伸向东深村的涌，四涌汇聚恰成“天”字形。1966年一度改称东方大队，约三年后恢复天益村之名。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
郭、陈、黄、何等姓在清代开村。村里1946年前后只有一家私塾，1948年才办起天益小学，校内有两棵高13至15米的大叶榕；2001年动工扩建。[2]
人口与经济[edit]
据村情介绍，全村面积3.7平方千米，户籍2768人，另有暂住人员1263人；2013年工农业合计产值超过1亿元，集体收入400多万元，设有鱼虾养殖场一千多亩。[2]
