下连珠村在赤坭镇的西北部，面积约2.7平方千米，下辖7个村民小组，约1058人（未注明年份），距镇区约6.5公里。[1]村在连珠村之南，古人以南为下，所以叫下连珠。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

下连珠是北向、新屋、南向三条自然村的统称，1959年土地改革期间为便于管理合并成一村。1987年设立下连珠村委会，先隶属赤坭区公所，当年3月起归赤坭镇人民政府管辖。[1]

经济[edit]

村里近年发展微小盆景产业，集体收入包括企业、盆景和花卉场地的租金。[1][2]2024年1月，原下连珠村小学被改建为碳中和新乡村培训学院，由赤坭镇政府牵头，华南理工大学的乡村振兴研究机构和华能集团南方分公司等参与共建。[2]
