华坑村属广州市白云区钟落潭镇，是该镇的一个行政村，在帽峰山脚下，面积约3.1平方公里，下分3个村民小组，人口约900多人，距镇区10公里，村委会设在华坑路1号。[1]

地名由来[edit]

明隆庆年间冯姓从竹料大巷迁居此地，庙宇石碑和大铜钟上刻有“画村”，取“画”的谐音“华”，得名华坑。[1]

历史与经济[edit]

1961年一度与高田村合为一个大队，1963年并入沙田大队，1978年3月划出，1998年成立村民委员会。村里引入水厂等企业，山上种荔枝、龙眼，水田种水稻、蔬菜。[1]
