地名由来[edit]
相传村原名马岗村，明永乐年间有茅岗县的官员因擅动库银赈灾而成钦犯，每遇官差搜捕便躲到马岗，马岗渐渐演变成马洞。[1]
经济[edit]
村地处丘陵，集体收入来自流转山地，农业种稻谷、花生，兼有渔业和畜牧业；高校园区的建设也带来收入。2020至2022年列入淘宝村名单，2021年12月获广东省卫生村称号。[1]
