地名由来[edit]
村民来自湴湖：1946年，日军侵华期间，那里的人避难至此，搭棚落脚，渐成村落；此地水塘多，村像一张凳子坐落塘中，故称“登塘”。[1]
经济与荣誉[edit]
村把沿广从公路的土地办厂出租，山上种速生桉，水田种水稻、花生，鱼塘养四大家鱼。2020年8月，列入「广东省首批“一村一品、一镇一业”专业村」名单（观赏苗木）；2023年度入选广州市美丽乡村（2024年6月公布）。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1979年自新村大队分出，1984年改乡，1992年改为登塘村民委员会。[1]
