地名由来[edit]
据传宋代汤、何、谢、黄等姓先建村，后迁出；宋末元初邝、陈、高、叶等姓陆续来此定居。村形如船，风水先生有意刁难，取名“湴湖”，俗意为被泥浆粘住。[1]
经济与荣誉[edit]
村里水田种稻谷、花生，鱼塘养四大家鱼，并做过老残荔枝改造试点。2026年1月，获评「广东省第二批“百千万工程”典型村」；2020年和2022年列入淘宝村名单；2021年12月获广东省卫生村称号。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
1958年设湴湖社委，1996年获白云区政府批复，改设为湴湖村民委员会。[1]
