水口村是城南镇下辖的行政村，位于两条河流的交汇处，村名由此而来。村中有清代的水口圣旨节孝牌坊，并有多处历史建筑。[1][3][4]

历史沿革[edit]

明清时此地隶属新村里；民国时属新村乡，设水口保。新中国成立初先后划归第三区和安乐区，称水口乡。1953年与丁坑口合为罗龙乡，1958年随罗龙公社，改为水口大队。1965年转属安乐公社，1966年归横锁公社，改名五星大队，1974年恢复水口大队之名。[1][2]

1984年归横锁乡管辖，村中设水口村民委员会。1992年，原横锁乡更名为城南乡，本村随之隶属城南乡。[1][2]

2024年1月，水口村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」；2024年7月，被命名为「2023年度三明市达标“六无”村（社区）」。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

水口圣旨节孝牌坊建于清代，位于原城南乡水口村，2008年被列为宁化县第三批县级文物保护单位（宁政〔2008〕12号）。[3]

村中另有文聪公祠和巫氏宗祠（均为清代），以及中华人民共和国成立后建的巫氏祖厅，三者列为县第二批历史建筑。[4]
