新民村是附城街道下辖的行政村，属城乡结合区。取名新民，是为了与紧邻的新乐村有所区别。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

李氏始祖树贞于明清时期从南雄迁来落户，此后何、黄、谢、卢、陈、袁、余、赖等姓陆续迁入，现有15姓，何姓人数最多。[2]

清代属西宁县常静都；民国时先后隶郁南县榃滨乡与中良乡。1958年改隶罗定，1961年划入新乐公社。新乐镇于2003年10月撤销，村遂并入附城街道。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2019年10月，本村列入「2019年广东省卫生村」名录。2023年5月，辖下多个自然村获评2022年广东省卫生村。[1]
