1958年，此地取名「东兴大队」，1999年改为东兴村民委员会[1]。

经济[edit]

2024年4月，东兴村入选「广东省第一批乡村振兴示范村」创建名单[1]。

名胜古迹[edit]

桂坂卧云草堂位于东兴桂坂村，年代为1949年，原为「中国人民解放军闽粤赣边纵队第四支队成立大会旧址」，2020年4月被列为第四批潮州市文物保护单位[4][2]。

「创盛公祠（抗日战争时期省立金山中学校址）」在东兴三河村，建于1941年，类别为近现代重要史迹，同在2020年4月被列为第四批潮州市文物保护单位[4][3]。

2022年8月，东兴村被确定为「2022年广东省民主法治示范村（社区）」创建单位[1]。
