西山社区位于三乡镇东部，与珠海市接壤，面积近4平方千米，辖4个村民小组。社区四面环山，一河两岸，本地常住人口约835人，流动人口则在8000人以上。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1951年，此地称东桂乡，1953年土改后仍称东桂乡，1955年属平岚区，1957年归三乡乡。1958年设东桂生产营，1961年改为西山生产大队，隶属三乡区鹤湾公社。1984年设西山村委会，属三乡镇。1990年设西山管理区，之后又复称西山村委会。后来因体制调整，改为西山居委会，一直沿用到现在。[3]

经济[edit]

1999年新一届村“两委”班子确定了以工业为主、带动第三产业的思路。村内引进厂企45家，厂房面积超过20万平方米，并建有布匹市场、农贸市场和商住楼。2012年，村工业产值为7.44亿元。[2]

文化[edit]

村内被授予“中山市卫生村”“广东省示范安全村”等荣誉，2012年获评“中山市宜居示范村庄”。2022年，西山社区列入淘宝村名单，2026年3月，社区列入广东省第三批“百千万工程”典型名单。[1][2]
